Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu called on the public to value the city's peace and stability during the annual Chung Yeung Festival. On Sunday, Lee participated in a commemorative ceremony held at the City Hall Memorial Garden in Central. During the event, he laid a wreath to pay respects to those who lost their lives defending Hong Kong during the conflict between 1941 and 1945. The tribute also honored public servants who passed away while performing their official duties. The ceremony serves as a yearly reminder of the sacrifices made by individuals for the benefit of the territory, with the leader using the occasion to encourage citizens to maintain social harmony.
