A Malaysian firm has initiated the country's inaugural public road test for a fully autonomous cargo vehicle equipped with an official license plate. The ALS RoboVan is scheduled to operate for a six-month pilot period along a 22-kilometer route in Cyberjaya, specifically designated for testing autonomous vehicles in mixed traffic environments. During this trial, developers will monitor critical performance metrics, including operational efficiency, total distance covered, and system intervention frequency. Oversight of the vehicle's movements will be managed from a specialized remote operations center established through a partnership between Sidec, ALS, and Cyberview. This project represents a significant milestone in Malaysia's efforts to integrate automated logistics technology into its existing urban transportation infrastructure.
