After a legal battle spanning seventeen years, Rittirong Chuenjit has secured a victory against the Thai police. The Supreme Court ruled in his favor, awarding him 4.38 million baht in compensation for his wrongful arrest when he was eighteen years old. During his initial detention, he was subjected to physical assault and coerced into providing a false confession. Beyond the financial settlement, the court has mandated that the police force remove his name from all criminal records. This decision concludes a lengthy judicial process that began when the victim was a schoolboy, providing him with a measure of justice as an adult.
