Turkey and Armenia have reached a formal agreement to facilitate university student exchanges as part of ongoing efforts to normalize bilateral relations. Vahagn Aleksanyan, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, confirmed that students from both nations will participate in academic mobility programs. This development follows a September 2025 meeting in Yerevan between special envoys Serdar Kılıç and Ruben Rubinyan, where both sides committed to enhancing cultural and academic collaboration, including the establishment of scholarship initiatives. Aleksanyan noted that these diplomatic advancements could potentially lead to the reopening of the shared border earlier than previously anticipated. This initiative represents a significant step in the broader normalization process between the two neighboring countries, building upon previous discussions regarding regional cooperation and academic integration.
