While the United States has signaled a willingness to use these sanctions, India maintains that its energy procurement is driven by domestic security needs and market conditions. Meanwhile, Russian officials have reaffirmed their commitment to supplying India, emphasizing that these trade relations are essential for India's economic development rather than a strategic effort to support Moscow's military campaign.
