The Abu Dhabi-based Global Institute for Disease Elimination (Glide) is expanding its international reach by sharing UAE expertise in disease control and artificial intelligence. During the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Glide's chief executive, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, highlighted the potential for AI to address healthcare disparities, especially in nations with limited financial resources. She noted that current AI advancements are primarily designed for wealthy nations, often neglecting the needs of low and middle-income countries. To bridge this gap, the institute has introduced specialized AI training initiatives for public health officials and established new partnerships to ensure that emerging technologies are accessible and effectively utilized in global health strategies.
