Cyril Gou has officially assumed his role as the French Interior Ministry’s representative in Tashkent. This position, established following high-level discussions between the French and Uzbek presidents in 2025, aims to bolster technical security partnerships across Central Asia. Based in Uzbekistan, Gou is tasked with managing regional cooperation for Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. His mandate covers a broad spectrum of security concerns, including counterterrorism, cybercrime, organized crime, border management, and drug trafficking. Furthermore, the initiative focuses on enhancing professional development through the exchange of expertise between police academies and training programs. Key areas of collaboration also encompass road safety, civil protection, and the security of high-ranking officials, reflecting a commitment to deepening institutional ties between France and the nations of the Central Asian region.
