The municipal transit authority in Chongqing, China, has announced plans to incorporate Thai language audio announcements across key metro stations. This initiative, revealed on September 15, is part of a broader three-year strategy aimed at enhancing accessibility for international travelers and fostering a more globalized urban environment. Currently, the city's 13 metro lines utilize Chinese and English for passenger information. By October 1, coinciding with China's National Day, major hubs such as Chaotianmen and Xiaoshizi stations will begin providing information in Thai. While authorities have not yet published a comprehensive list of all affected locations, the project intends to simplify navigation for the increasing number of Thai tourists visiting the region.
