Following the sinking of a high-speed catamaran off the coast of Northern Cyprus, the confirmed death toll has reached 13 after rescuers retrieved another body. The vessel, named Filo Jet, was carrying 259 passengers and eight crew members when it began taking on water shortly after departing Girne for the Turkish port of Taşucu on August 30. While attempting to return to harbor, the ship sank. Currently, 239 individuals have been saved, but 15 people remain unaccounted for. A large-scale search operation, featuring nine ships and 11 aircraft, is underway. Turkish naval vessels have located the wreckage at a depth of 554 meters and are attempting to retrieve the voyage data recorder. Meanwhile, a local court has ordered the detention of the ferry's two captains as investigations continue.
