The Delhi High Court has expressed strong disapproval regarding recent reports of vandalism and physical altercations during the Delhi University student union election campaign. Presiding over the case, Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia warned that the court might halt the vote counting and result announcements if officials fail to address the unrest adequately. The bench has ordered the university administration, Delhi Police, and the central government to file status reports by Friday detailing the measures taken against perpetrators of the violence. This judicial intervention follows an incident where a faculty member was reportedly attacked at Motilal Nehru College during the final day of campaigning. The court emphasized that the current situation is unacceptable and requires immediate accountability from the responsible authorities to ensure order.
