Excavation has been completed for the first tunnel along the Kyrgyz segment of the planned China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, according to the joint venture overseeing the project. The 209.6-meter Kosh Dobo North No. 2 tunnel, where work began in June 2025, represents the first completed underground passage in Kyrgyzstan for the trilateral rail corridor. The project company, formed by entities representing China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, reported ongoing construction across the route, including progress on 27 tunnels, 43 bridges, 88 roadbed segments, and multiple railway stations.
