Search operations for individuals missing following the August 26 floods at the 37 MW Upper Trishuli-3 B Hydropower Project have gained momentum. The arrival of three large excavators and a backhoe loader at the site marks a significant shift in the recovery efforts, as previous attempts using smaller equipment were insufficient to clear debris from the project's tunnels and residential zones. Out of the 191 workers initially reported missing from the Fewa Construction site, 13 have been located, while 178 remain unaccounted for. The Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) confirmed that the deployment of heavy machinery was made possible after crews successfully cleared access routes to the facility. Rescue teams continue to work through the site to locate the remaining missing personnel.
