Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu has reaffirmed the city's dedication to acting as a reliable collaborator in supporting the economic development of Central Asia. Speaking via video link at the South China Morning Post’s China Conference held in Astana, Lee highlighted the tangible progress made following his official visit to the region earlier this year. He noted that a financial institution included in his June delegation has already provided US$785 million in backing to the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. The city leader emphasized that Hong Kong intends to leverage its unique position as a global financial hub to facilitate further investment and growth across the Central Asian nations, strengthening ties between the two regions through strategic financial partnerships and ongoing professional engagement.
