Kazakhstan's national oil transport company, KazTransOil, intends to invest an estimated $327 million in expanding key sections of its oil pipeline network. This strategic investment aims to significantly increase the country's oil export capacity towards China, bolstering its eastern corridor. The project, scheduled between 2026 and 2030, is projected to be primarily funded through borrowing. Details of these expansion plans were presented to investors on September 2 during a virtual Issuer Day event hosted by the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange. A major component involves boosting the Kenkiyak-Atyrau pipeline's annual capacity from approximately six million tons to 15 million tons. The Kenkiyak-Kumkol pipeline is also slated for increased capacity as part of this initiative, with the combined system targeting 35 million tons annually.
