A 23-year-old individual from Shchuchinsk recently filed a police report regarding a 1.3 million tenge fraud. The man claimed he paid this sum to an acquaintance in May 2024 to secure a military service certificate. After failing to receive the document or a refund, he sought assistance from law enforcement. While authorities have initiated an investigation into the suspected fraudster, the victim now faces the possibility of criminal charges himself. According to the Akmola Region Police Department, the complainant's own actions during the transaction are currently under scrutiny. The case highlights the legal risks associated with attempting to bypass official procedures for government documentation, as the act of paying for such services can be classified as a criminal offense under local regulations.
