Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has formally requested that the Union Railway Minister and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh conduct a comprehensive investigation into the death of Himashree Boro. The 20-year-old dancer disappeared while traveling on the Dibrugarh–Kanyakumari Vivek Express on October 6. Her body was subsequently discovered in a forested region of Srikakulam district. Before losing contact, Boro had informed relatives that she felt threatened by fellow passengers. Railway officials confirmed receiving a report regarding harassment on the train, though they were unable to locate her at the time. Sarma has dispatched a senior police officer to Andhra Pradesh to assist local authorities in the inquiry, emphasizing the need to uncover the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and ensure accountability for any potential criminal activity.
