Persistent rainfall has triggered multiple landslides along the Prithvi Highway, forcing authorities to halt traffic at the Kalanki entry point in Kathmandu. The Dhading section of the road is particularly affected, with seven distinct landslide sites obstructing movement for both passenger buses and private vehicles. Consequently, long queues of traffic have formed between Balkhu and Kalanki. While local police are actively working to clear the debris, progress remains slow due to continuing adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, the BP Highway and Kantilokpath are currently impassable, effectively cutting off several major transit routes out of the capital. Commuters are facing significant delays as administrative efforts to restore road connectivity continue amidst ongoing rain.
