The popular soya milk retailer Lao Ban Soya Beancurd has officially confirmed that a ten-cent deposit fee is being applied to its beverage containers. This charge is part of the national Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) and has been in effect since October 1. The company's statement follows social media discussions where customers expressed surprise upon noticing the BCRS label on their drink cups. Some consumers raised concerns regarding the durability of the required stickers, noting that damage to the labels could potentially hinder the refund process. The initiative is designed to encourage recycling by incentivizing the return of pre-packaged drink containers. Lao Ban Soya Beancurd clarified its participation in the program after a customer shared an image of the labeled packaging on a local community Facebook page, sparking widespread interest among patrons regarding the new regulatory requirements.
