Official sources have clarified that transaction charges associated with UPI payments will be the responsibility of merchants rather than end-users. For any transactions amounting to 75,000 rupees or more, the fee is restricted to a maximum of 300 rupees. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that merchants will not face any additional Goods and Services Tax (GST) obligations resulting from these specific payment processing fees. This policy ensures that the cost structure for digital payments remains transparent for customers while maintaining the current regulatory framework for business transactions.
