Dr. Dharmaraj Upreti, the executive head of Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, stated that essential aid has successfully reached the majority of areas impacted by recent flooding. During a recent briefing, Upreti noted that only the most isolated locations, accessible solely by air, remain without supplies. He explained that helicopter operations are currently focused on search and rescue missions for missing or trapped individuals rather than logistics. To address the supply gap, authorities are coordinating with local governments and attempting to dispatch food and relief materials from regional hubs near Trishuli, rather than relying exclusively on transport from Kathmandu. The agency remains in constant communication with local officials to monitor the situation and ensure aid reaches all affected populations as conditions permit.
