Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet announced that the recent five-day visit by approximately 4,800 US Navy personnel from the USS Abraham Lincoln contributed roughly 100 million baht to the local economy. The sailors, who remained in the city from September 2 to September 6 for rest and recreation, visited various regional landmarks such as the Sanctuary of Truth, the Pattaya Floating Market, and the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. Beyond the financial impact, Mayor Poramet emphasized that the visit served as a strategic opportunity to rebrand Pattaya. By highlighting diverse tourist attractions, local officials aim to shift the city's international reputation away from its traditional focus on nightlife and entertainment venues toward a more multifaceted destination for global travelers.
