Police Major General Andrei Krayushkin, appointed to manage the Russian operations of Auchan, Nestlé, and Lemana PRO, has committed to safeguarding these retail chains against potential drone strikes. In a directive to staff, Krayushkin emphasized the necessity of maintaining uninterrupted supply chains and store operations, citing their importance to national food security. While the transition to state-appointed management proceeds, the companies have been instructed to avoid significant financial transactions, such as dividend payments or asset sales. This move follows a presidential decree allowing the state to seize control of strategically vital facilities if they are deemed insufficiently protected from external threats. The affected companies, which employ tens of thousands across Russia, continue to operate normally while under this new temporary administration. This seizure is part of a broader trend involving the state takeover of foreign-owned businesses since the onset of the conflict in Ukraine.
