Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom are working to broaden their economic partnership by moving beyond raw material exports. During a recent meeting between Kazakh Trade Minister Arman Shakkaliyev and UK Trade Envoy Lord John Alderdice, both nations emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation in mineral processing and the development of higher-value industrial goods. This initiative follows the implementation of the UK-Kazakhstan Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement in July. The new institutional framework established by this agreement aims to foster collaboration across several key sectors, including logistics, technology, education, and critical minerals. By diversifying trade activities, both countries intend to transition their relationship toward more sophisticated economic integration and value-added production.
