A recent study from the Commission on Asian Philanthropy indicates that charitable donations across nine jurisdictions in the region are expected to total 1.5 trillion US dollars over the coming decade. The findings, presented during a forum hosted by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, highlight the evolving landscape of private and corporate giving. Notably, the report identifies that corporate entities in Hong Kong occupy a more significant role in philanthropic activities compared to their counterparts in neighboring regions. Furthermore, data from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust suggests that its own charitable contributions account for approximately 1.8 percent of the city's total gross domestic product. These figures underscore the growing importance of structured social investment and corporate responsibility in supporting regional development and community welfare initiatives throughout Asia.
