The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has committed to providing financial compensation to national teams that faced lodging difficulties during the Chess Olympiad held in Samarkand. Specifically, the Indian delegation experienced a significant delay before gaining access to their hotel rooms. Furthermore, the organization indicated that the scheduled FIDE Congress might be delayed. This potential rescheduling is attributed to complications regarding visa issuance for a number of participating delegates, which could hinder their ability to attend the event as planned.
