Lu Mingpu, a 92-year-old competitor from China's Shandong Province, achieved victory in the M90 long jump category at the 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships held in Daegu, South Korea. His winning leap measured 2.05 meters, marking his second gold medal of the international event. The competition, which took place between August 22 and September 3, hosted track and field participants aged 35 and older. Prior to his individual success in the long jump on August 28, Lu contributed to a relay team victory in the M85 4x100m event. Having participated in six different disciplines during the tournament, the nonagenarian athlete has expressed his intention to continue his active sporting career until he reaches the age of 100.
