The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has reported that seven vessels were damaged in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. According to an official statement, four ships involved in ship-to-ship oil transfers in the northern Persian Gulf were struck and set ablaze by IRGC forces. Additionally, three other vessels reportedly hit mines west of the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in fires and operational stoppages. The IRGC claimed these actions were taken against ships violating maritime routes, alleging that these vessels were influenced by the United States military. The Iranian naval command stated that it maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz and issued a warning to the U.S. regarding the risks of continued maritime confrontations in the region. The military credited national support for its ongoing operations and characterized the incidents as a consequence of foreign interference in local shipping routes.
