A suspected antipersonnel land mine, potentially originating from North Korea, was discovered on a beach in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, this past Thursday. The explosive device was located by an environmental worker performing cleanup duties near Daebinchang Beach on Jumun Island around 3:20 p.m. Following the report, the Marine Corps' 2nd Division was deployed to address the situation. Local officials in Ganghwa have issued a formal advisory, requesting that both local residents and tourists remain vigilant and exercise extreme caution when visiting coastal areas in the region to avoid potential hazards from similar washed-up military debris.
