Istanbul is preparing to launch the 2026-2027 academic year, accommodating approximately 2.7 million students across more than 7,500 schools. The city has bolstered its educational infrastructure by adding 82 new facilities and 2,202 classrooms, alongside extensive maintenance work on existing buildings. A workforce of over 157,000 teachers will facilitate the implementation of the Türkiye Century Education Model, which prioritizes skill acquisition, values, and social-emotional growth alongside traditional academics. Significant efforts have been made to distribute millions of textbooks and integrate digital tools, including the transition to the Pardus operating system on smart boards. Provincial education authorities have confirmed that schools are fully prepared, emphasizing the vital role of educators in fostering student development through both classroom instruction and practical, real-world learning experiences.
