Police in Kanpur have detained a 30-year-old woman, Shalu Vinocha, following the murder of her 63-year-old father-in-law, Vineet Vinocha. The victim, a wealthy pharmaceutical businessman, was discovered with 26 stab wounds in his apartment on September 5. Authorities allege that the woman hired their domestic help, Vishal Gautam, and an accomplice, Raj Kishore, to commit the crime. Investigators suggest the motive was a dispute over the victim's strict control of the family's finances. The two men were apprehended after a confrontation with police. Security footage and witness statements indicate that the daughter-in-law allegedly instructed security guards to grant the suspects entry to the building under the guise of delivering medicine. Law enforcement officials are currently verifying call records and other evidence to confirm her direct involvement in the conspiracy.
