A smart greenhouse initiative in Cambodia's Kampong Chhnang Province, backed by China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is modernizing local vegetable farming. By utilizing precision irrigation and automated shading, farmers have significantly shortened their production cycles from several months to a single month. This technological upgrade allows for more consistent output, attracting interest from commercial processing firms for potential supply agreements. The project currently supports 30 households, with each family anticipated to see an annual income increase of approximately 3,000 yuan. According to the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation China Secretariat, these improvements are expected to reduce the local poverty rate by up to two percentage points. This effort serves as a practical example of how international development cooperation can provide measurable economic advantages to rural communities.
