Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has publicly denounced the Punjab government and its police force, alleging political victimization. The accusations surfaced during Afridi's visit to Lahore, where he went to pay his respects to the family of Ishtiaq Ahmad, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist who recently died. Ahmad reportedly succumbed to severe burn injuries sustained during a police raid conducted while preparations for Eid Miladun Nabi were ongoing. PTI members maintain that police actions were directly responsible for the tragedy, noting that the victim suffered burns across 70 percent of his body. Upon his arrival, Afridi declined official security and protocol, asserting his right to move as a private citizen and criticizing the local administration's conduct regarding the incident.
