A 31-year-old Sri Lankan national filed a formal complaint at the Pattaya City Police Station on September 15, alleging he was intimidated into purchasing herbal goods. The tourist reported that an individual, appearing to be of Indian descent and claiming to work in Dubai, approached him with claims regarding the hair growth benefits of coconut oil. After being persuaded to enter a local shop, the visitor felt threatened by the presence of other individuals inside the premises. To resolve the situation and leave the store, he paid 3,300 baht for the products. This incident follows a similar report made by an Indian tourist regarding the same establishment just over a week prior. Local authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding these allegations of high-pressure sales tactics targeting foreign visitors in the area.
