South Korea's equity markets have experienced a notable downturn as semiconductor stocks faced downward pressure. Data provided by the Korea Exchange indicates that the total market capitalization of the Kospi and Kosdaq indices has decreased by over 200 trillion won, equivalent to approximately $147.3 billion, during the last month. By midday Tuesday, the combined valuation of both exchanges reached 5,962 trillion won. Specifically, the Kospi was valued at 5,498 trillion won, while the Kosdaq accounted for 459 trillion won. This contraction marks a reversal in the recent upward trend for the domestic stock market, primarily driven by the weakening performance of major technology companies.
