Lim Bee Huat, the founder of the Kopitiam Group, has filed a lawsuit against Tiandi ACMV Engineering regarding renovation work on his two Whitley Road bungalows. The businessman, who is in his 70s, claims that the contractor failed to complete the project to a satisfactory standard, resulting in significant defects that render the properties uninhabitable. Lim is seeking legal compensation for the breach of contract, though the specific financial amount remains to be determined by the court. The renovation project for these two properties reportedly cost S$9 million. In its defense, Tiandi ACMV Engineering argues that the alleged issues were actually caused by another contractor hired by Lim. This case marks the second time the entrepreneur has pursued legal action concerning these specific residential properties.
