Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is facing mounting pressure to address allegations linked to a 4.5 billion baht local government examination scandal. Opposition MP Rangsiman Rome has publicly requested clarification regarding the conduct of Thongchuea Chatkitcharoen, an adviser within the Prime Minister's political circle. While no formal wrongdoing has been proven against the adviser, the investigation into the manipulation of results for approximately 2,000 candidates continues to expand. Authorities have already frozen over 320 million baht in assets related to the case. Anutin, who also serves as Interior Minister, has publicly pledged that the investigation will proceed based solely on evidence, regardless of the political status or connections of those involved. A House committee hearing scheduled for September 24 is expected to further scrutinize the extent of the network behind the fraudulent operations.
