Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced his intention to donate the entirety of his upcoming salary raise to charitable organizations over the next five years. This decision follows the government's formal acceptance of an independent committee's recommendations regarding the adjustment of compensation for political office holders and Members of Parliament. Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing is scheduled to provide further parliamentary details regarding the implementation of these pay revisions later today. Prime Minister Wong clarified that this commitment to donate his incremental earnings is a personal choice and does not impose any similar expectations upon other government officials. The pledge remains contingent upon his continued service as the nation's leader throughout the specified five-year duration.
