Singapore has experienced five consecutive days of improved air quality as of October 22. Hourly PM2.5 concentrations across the island have remained within the normal to low-elevated range, aided by a shift in wind direction from the south. While air quality has not yet returned to the levels observed prior to early September, the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) is currently in the good-to-moderate category for most of the country. The only exception is the western region, which recorded a PSI of 108, classified as low-unhealthy. Despite these positive trends, the National Environment Agency has issued a warning that smoke haze could potentially affect the city-state through Friday, depending on wind patterns and the transport of pollutants.
