Air quality levels in Singapore continue to fluctuate as the city-state grapples with haze. While the northern region saw an improvement to moderate levels early Wednesday morning, other parts of the country remain in the unhealthy range. As of 8am, the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index readings for the eastern, southern, western, and central regions fluctuated between 112 and 118. Furthermore, PM2.5 concentrations are currently elevated across all five regions, with the east reporting the highest levels. Authorities have advised residents to monitor local air quality data before engaging in outdoor exercise. Individuals are encouraged to limit strenuous physical activity when PM2.5 levels reach the elevated band, noting that health risks depend on personal medical conditions and the duration of exposure to the haze.
