The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has clarified that specific small-scale businesses can request an exemption from implementing mandated salary increases. According to the agency, retail and service firms with a workforce of fewer than ten employees are eligible to apply for this relief. Furthermore, the provision extends to enterprises that have suffered from natural disasters or human-induced crises. This measure is designed to assist micro-businesses and those struggling with unforeseen catastrophes in managing their operational costs amidst new wage regulations.
