The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) in Qatar has launched a public consultation process regarding a new draft policy for universal telecommunications services. This initiative aims to guarantee that fundamental digital connectivity, including broadband internet, voice calling, and text messaging, is accessible at all permanent residential and business locations throughout the nation. By promoting widespread digital inclusion, the CRA intends to ensure that all residents can effectively engage in the country's digital landscape. The regulatory body is currently inviting feedback and suggestions from relevant stakeholders and the general public to refine the proposed framework. Interested parties have until October 20, 2026, to submit their contributions regarding the scope and implementation mechanisms of these essential services.
