The National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore has served legal notices to ten locally registered firms as part of an investigation into transboundary haze. These actions, taken under the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act, follow similar notices previously issued to ten companies based in Indonesia. The targeted Singaporean entities operate within the forestry and palm oil sectors and are linked to land concessions in Indonesia where fires may have occurred. Among the organizations identified are Asia Pulp & Paper Company Limited and its Chinese affiliate, along with Bumitama Agri Ltd and Golden Agri International Pte Ltd. The NEA is seeking detailed information from these businesses to determine their potential involvement in the regional air pollution crisis.
