The Private Sector Advisory Council-Healthcare Sector has formally requested that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. implement measures to improve medical accessibility for vulnerable populations. During the 11th Healthcare Sector Meeting held at Malacañang, PSAC representative Paolo Borromeo emphasized the necessity of government collaboration to transform policy recommendations into tangible relief for citizens. The proposed strategy focuses on enhancing PhilHealth benefits, increasing the availability of affordable medications, and decentralizing medical services to ensure they reach local communities more effectively. By strengthening these pillars, the council aims to alleviate the financial burden on Filipino families, allowing them to secure essential medical treatment without facing prohibitive costs. This initiative seeks to integrate private sector expertise with government policy to create a more sustainable and equitable healthcare landscape across the Philippines.
