The Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) of Sri Lanka has formally denounced the reported suppression of demonstrations in France. On Wednesday, the organization delivered a letter to the French Embassy in Colombo to express support for French students and citizens who are protesting against the perceived decline of the national public education system. The IUSF highlighted significant grievances, including widespread school closures, a lack of teaching staff, poor infrastructure, and insufficient government funding. By submitting this document, the federation is demanding the release of individuals detained during recent protests and calling for immediate state action to resolve the ongoing educational crisis. The IUSF claims that these systemic problems have led to large-scale public unrest across France, and they are urging authorities to address the underlying concerns regarding the quality and accessibility of public schooling.
