The monsoon session of the Telangana Assembly began with significant unrest as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislators staged protests against the current Congress administration. Party leaders, including KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao, were taken into custody by police after being denied entry to the assembly complex. The BRS members, dressed in black, accused the government of failing to honor numerous campaign pledges made over the past 1,000 days. During the detentions, footage emerged showing a police officer pulling the hair of BRS MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy. The demonstration also resulted in substantial traffic congestion near the legislative building. Concurrently, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representatives inside the chamber demanded a judicial inquiry regarding land registration issues under Section 22A of the Registration Act, leading to disruptions during the question hour.
