Thai athlete Kunlavut Vitidsarn successfully advanced to the men's singles semifinals at the 20th Asian Games following a hard-fought victory against Hong Kong's Ng Ka Long. Despite dropping the opening set 16-21, the world number two rallied to win the subsequent games 21-10 and 21-13 at the Ichinomiya City Gymnasium. The match was marked by significant pressure and several controversial line calls, as the venue lacked a video challenge system. A pivotal moment occurred during the final game when a disputed ruling on a match point favored the Thai player. Following his win, Kunlavut celebrated by tossing his racket. He is now set to compete against Indonesia's Alwi Farhan for a spot in the final round, following Farhan's own quarterfinal victory over Chou Tien-chen.
