Turkish law enforcement officials have apprehended five additional individuals, including Ertan Aydın, a former political adviser to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as part of an expanding probe into a significant investment fund scandal. This latest development follows the arrest of 26 other suspects earlier in the week, raising the total number of detainees to 31. Aydın, who previously served as a lawmaker for the Justice and Development Party and contributed to the 2023 election campaign, was linked to the case through his brief tenure on the board of Tera Yatırım. The investigation, initiated following reports from the Capital Markets Board, focuses on allegations of market manipulation involving shares of four distinct companies. Authorities continue to examine the financial activities associated with these entities as the legal proceedings against the suspects move forward.
