The White House has reportedly evaluated potential successors for Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg, according to sources familiar with the matter. Although no final decision to remove Feinberg has been made, the discussions indicate potential further leadership changes within a Pentagon already experiencing significant staff turnover, including the recent departure of Army Secretary Dan Driscoll. Both the White House and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have dismissed reports of Feinberg's replacement, asserting he retains full support. Feinberg, a billionaire co-founder of Cerberus Capital Management, has faced pressure over slow progress in expanding U.S. munitions manufacturing amid ongoing military operations and depleted stockpiles. He has also faced congressional scrutiny regarding potential conflicts of interest, which the Pentagon has denied.
