Authorities recently initiated a series of raids targeting private residences, nightlife venues, and non-governmental organizations, while simultaneously restricting numerous social media accounts. Government officials justify these measures by citing a necessity to safeguard traditional family values and protect minors. Tar, who has previously faced imprisonment for advocacy work, notes that the administration continues to characterize the LGBTQ community as a deviant influence. This latest wave of state intervention is viewed by activists as a continuation of the government's long-standing rhetoric against the community, now intensified as a political maneuver ahead of future electoral cycles.
