The Pollution Control Department is currently supervising the environmental cleanup process at a data center located on Rama 9 Road in Bangkok. Officials intervened after detecting oil-tainted wastewater and sediment within the facility's retention pond and an adjacent public drainage system, raising concerns about potential leakage into a nearby canal. In coordination with the Huai Khwang District Office, the facility operator has engaged a specialized contractor to manage the waste removal. Current mitigation strategies include the deployment of sandbags to isolate the contaminated materials and the application of oil-dispersing agents. The wastewater is subsequently being pumped out for proper treatment to prevent further environmental impact. The Pollution Control Department continues to monitor the site to ensure that disposal procedures comply with safety standards and that the risk to local waterways is effectively neutralized.
